Could one of you gifted virtualmin experts spare a minute for an email issue

hELLO,
I would be ever so grateful if someone could help me with this problem

about a week ago I updated webmin/virtualmin and the update some how corrupted webmin user theme, couldnt repair it so had to erase server and start again.reinstalled everything.

Ive not been able to access email via Eudora since the reinstall.

Ive been able to send email from my personal account and from gmail and They all are received by the relevant inboxs (mxxx, sxxx etc)
home/emis/homes/sxxx/Maildir/new
home/emis/homes/mxxx/Maildir/new

so … Im assuming that postfix/dovecot are working.

My problem is
… when I use Eudora to access the relevant email boxes (whether by pop3 or imap) it wont download anything.
I have checked the Eudora connections (pop3 & imap) and it says it has connected with the mail boxes … but when I try to download them with Eudora, Eudors logs in and then logs out. (which is what happens if the email box is empty) but I definitely know there are emails in all these mail boxes.

Ive searched the posts and spent days on this problem till ive become brain dead … Im just totally at a loss now as to how to fix this problem to get Eudora to download the emails from my website mail boxes.

HERES THE MAILLOG example on just 2 of my email boxes

above the last 4 lines i can see the email is delivered
I check the different website email boxes (by wscp) and the received emails are there (ive opened to read them)
you can see in the last 4 lines that Eudora logs in and then logs back out again.
I think its a dovecot.pop3 problem.
