Hello,
I have recreated my virtual servers many times and fooled with the raw apache configuration files to the best of my knowledge and cannot for the life of me figure out why I cannot access my servers from external domains.
Oddly, when I select "Setup SSL website too?" I am able to access files via https:// but not http://.
If anyone has experienced similar problems or knows what may be wrong, I would love to hear from you.

Don’t do that, if you aren’t sure what you’re doing. 
What’s in the error_log (both system-wide and for the virtual server in question, which will be in the logs directory within the virtual server owners home) when starting apache and when trying to visit the site?
Well before Apache 2 I knew what I was doing with virtual hosts 
Apache error log is empty (apparently the connection didn’t get that far) and I’m not sure which system log to look in.
