404 error in logs while trying to upgrade to pro license

Was Webmin preinstalled? Either by you or by your host? That would also explain the disparity.

straight Almalinux9 install. SSH’d in and started the Virtualmin install from a blank canvas.

Hmm
OK, I guess we just need to try to reproduce it, because we don’t have any explanations for that error.

Sorry about delay—this issue has been fixed!

Please try upgrading from GPL to Pro once again!

We had upgraded by doing what I posted above under issue 2.

@Ilia is there something you feel we should do to fix something or are we good to go?

The issue with the repo got fixed a couple of days ago.

However, if you use any Webmin modules other than the new core Webmin modules, like PostgreSQL for example, you would have to manually install it using webmin-postgresql package after next Webmin upgrade so it doesn’t become a surprise for you.

If you’re not sure, please wait a little until we release the patched 8.0.1 version that will make the switch for you automatically, so you won’t have to deal with any hassle later.

It has been addressed in 8.0.1 release:
